Youth Protection
Future Problem Solving is committed to ensuring a safe learning environment for all our participants. In fact, the safety and well-being of every young person in our local, regional, and international competitions is our highest priority. We promote youth safety and awareness of best practices to protect problem solvers across our global network.
Youth Safety Practices
Future Problem Solving affiliates are separate nonprofit entities that have the primary responsibility for youth protection in their organizations. This involves establishing local safety policies and practices that best protect youth including effective screening of staff and volunteers, monitoring, and reporting of concerns. At the International Conference, all registered adults are required to complete a background check before they can attend the annual event and interact with students.
Please contact us with any questions about Youth Protection guidelines, resources, or screening, or to report a concern. Youth participants are encouraged to reach out for support and assistance if they have any concerns about their own safety and/or treatment or that of other participants in Future Problem Solving programs.
Anti-Discrimination Policy and Anti-Harassment Policy
Future Problem Solving strives to create and maintain an environment in which people are treated with dignity, decency, and respect, and which is characterized by mutual trust and the absence of intimidation, oppression, and exploitation.
